Hornet
Some of the best moments of my summer always included my trip to the Ex. And every summer, the Ex just gets better and better. From musical on ice to eating deep fried onions, here are some of the highlights of my Ex:
- Attending one of the Beyond Broadway shows with Joannie Rochette was definitely an eye-opening, fantastic and magical experience. From Rock of Ages to Burlesque, the show was a combination of singing, acrobats and of course figure skating. As a fan of Joannie, I was very excited to see her perform live! What’s more is that I was able to share the experience with my mom who loves figure skating and cabaret!
- My favourite carnival food has to be waffle ice creams and I must have set a personal record of how many waffle ice creams I could eat in a day (if you must know, it was 3)! I don’t know about you, but it brings back great memories of my childhood – I still remember stealing my sister’s waffle ice cream at the Ex!
- Lastly, I was very honoured to check out some of the jets, buses and gadgets used by the Canadian Forces. We went into the Navy bus to see first hand of what it’s like to be part of the team. We also briefly spoke to one of the officers about the Hornet which was used during the Air Show.
All in all, I had a great time at the Ex. I got to spend time with my family, friends and colleagues which was the most important part of my experience as the CNE blogger. I’m already looking forward to next year’s CNE!
